Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the existing text in the PDF?
Yes. Choose the “Edit existing text” tool and click any line of the document’s own text to retype or delete it. The tool covers the original text and rebuilds the background underneath — whether it’s a solid colour, a gradient or a textured or photographic background — then redraws your new text matched to the original font, size and colour, so the result looks like the original document. This works on PDFs that contain a real text layer; scanned image-only PDFs should be run through OCR PDF first.
Will people be able to tell the PDF was edited?
The goal is a seamless result: the background is reconstructed from the surrounding pixels and the replacement text matches the original styling, so casual and visual inspection won’t reveal the change. Note that this is a visual edit, not a forgery tool — it is meant for correcting your own documents, updating drafts and fixing mistakes, and you should only edit documents you are authorised to change.
Is my document uploaded when I edit it?
No. Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so contracts, forms and other sensitive documents never leave your device.
