How it works

Watermark PDF online — free and private

Watermark PDF stamps custom text — CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, APPROVED, your company name — across every page of your document. Adjust the transparency, size, color and diagonal angle so the watermark is visible without drowning out the content.

Watermarking is a simple, effective way to mark document status and discourage unauthorized reuse. PDF10x applies it entirely in your browser, so sensitive documents stay on your machine. To label pages for easy reference as well, add sequential numbering with Add Page Numbers.

Why use PDF10x to watermark pdf?

Full styling control

Set the text, opacity, font size, color and rotation. Preview-friendly defaults produce a classic diagonal watermark instantly.

Every page, consistently

The watermark is placed identically across all pages, centered and scaled sensibly regardless of page size.

Embedded in the file

The watermark becomes part of the page content — it prints, it shows in every viewer, and it can't be toggled off.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove a watermark later?

The watermark is drawn into the page content of the downloaded copy, so it survives every viewer and printer. If you change your mind, our Remove Watermark tool can detect and strip it again — and your original file is never modified in the first place.

Can I watermark only certain pages?

The current version stamps all pages for consistency. To watermark a subset, first use Extract Pages, watermark the extract, then merge it back with Merge PDF.

Does the watermark appear when printing?

Yes. Because the watermark is part of the page content itself, it appears on screen and in print, in every PDF viewer.
